Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about life at Mill Lake Seniors Community and what makes our long-term care residence in Abbotsford, BC, special.   • Subsidized rooms or beds are those partially funded by the government and partially funded by the resident. Private pay suites are fully paid for by the resident. For more information on how to apply for subsidized care, visit our Subsidized care page.

  • Long-term care is for those seniors who can no longer live safely or independently at home due to complex health care requirements and/or suffer from cognitive decline and memory loss. Long-term care residences provide full-time daily living and nursing care and may offer subsidized, private-pay or a mixture of each at any individual location. Assisted living is for those who can live independently and make decisions on their own behalf, but require a supportive environment and assistance with daily tasks due to physical or functional health challenges. Mill Lake Seniors Community offers both assisted living and long-term care options, supporting seniors with a range of needs in one community.

  • Yes. Mill Lake Seniors Community offers short-term and respite stays for seniors who need temporary support in a welcoming environment. This option can be helpful for individuals recovering after a hospital stay, exploring senior living before making a longer-term decision, or when family caregivers need time away. During their stay, residents receive meals, services, and assistance from the care team, just like other residents in the community.

  • Yes. Mill Lake Seniors Community provides specialized support for residents living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. Residents receive full-time daily living assistance and nursing care in a safe and supportive environment. The third floor of the residence is dedicated to dementia care, and secure entry systems, including keypad-access elevators, help support resident safety.

  • Yes, 3 homestyle meals are included daily.
